Overall purpose of the role:
The Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate financial data entry, budget monitoring, bank and account reconciliations, and financial compliance in line with DRC and donor regulations. The role supports high-quality financial reporting, daily accounting operations, register the expenses to ERP system (Dynamics), contributing to the overall financial integrity of DRC Türkiye operations.
Geographic Scope: Country (Türkiye)
This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Budget Control, Planning, Reporting and Accounting
- Ensure the implementation and monthly update of shared cost tools.
- Prepare and maintain Budget Follow-Up (BFU) files to reflect accurate project-level spending.
- Review transactions for proper allocation and correct any discrepancies through rebooking using authorized templates.
- Ensure daily and accurate uploading of all financial transactions to Dynamics ERP.
- Assist in and finalize the preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready.
- Perform cost allocation for monthly HQ-booked charges
- Reconcile and clean up shared costs and intercompany accounts.
- Reconcile Dynamics salary postings against actual national and expatriate payroll.
Transfers, Payments, and Bank Reconciliations
- Verify bank and cash payments, ensuring compliance with DRC financial procedures and donor requirements.
- Prepare and perform monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts and cash counts, reporting any variances to the Finance Manager.
- Prepare and clean up aging reports for open advances.
- Lead vendor reconciliation and ensure vendor accounts are accurately maintained in Dynamics.
Accounting
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant entry of all transactions into Dynamics ERP with correct project, cost, and budget codes.
- Upload and reconcile SSI and tax declarations in Dynamics.
- Perform deviation report reconciliation, post necessary adjustments, and generate salary distributions.
- Post partner expenditures in Dynamics and ensure documentation is reviewed and filed.
Cashier
- Act as the secondary cashier when needed, including holding the cash account, registering transactions in the cashbook, uploading entries into Dynamics, and returning responsibility upon the main cashier’s return.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in financial/accounting roles, preferably within INGOs.
- Experience in preparation of financial reports and budgets.
- Experience in providing inputs for budget development.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Fluency in English and Turkish

Contract length: 1 Year (with possible extension based on fund availability and performance)
Band: H – Non-Manager
Designation of Duty Station: Country Office (Adana until 31.12.2025, Gaziantep starting from 01.01.2026)

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for nationals.
