Who are we?
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is Denmark’s largest NGO and a leading international humanitarian organization. In over 30 countries, our 6,000 colleagues work to protect, advocate for, and build sustainable futures for refugees and other people affected by displacement.
Our team of finance specialists is part of a support unit responsible for the finances of activities implemented in or from Denmark. Our main task is to act as finance partners for HQ departments. This includes ongoing budget follow-up, budgeting, financial reporting, and project audits. We work mainly with national operations but also coordinate with HQ finance and international operations on projects and transactions across our global setup.
About the internship
We are looking for an intern who is curious about financial processes, eager to learn by doing, and ready to contribute to real-world tasks. You’ll work alongside a team of finance specialists and gain insight into project audits and year-end closure processes in a global organization. You’ll also receive hands-on training in Microsoft Dynamics 365, our ERP system. You will report to the Team Manager of INET Finance.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting financial audits of projects and interim donor reporting
- Assisting in project closure processes
- Uploading and registering budgets in our ERP system
- Smaller administrative tasks, such as assisting in the preparation of meetings and webinars

About you
We expect that you are currently enrolled in a relevant education programme (e.g. Financial Controller or Bachelor's in Financial Management) and are a strong team player and eager to learn.
We also expect that you:
- Have a working knowledge of Excel
- Have good communication skills in both Danish and English
- Approach your tasks with curiosity and a can-do attitude
- Are proactive, service-minded, and take ownership of your work
- Can handle complexity and work in a structured, solution-oriented way

Start date: 2. January 2026. We can be flexible on the start date.
Duration: Subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship. Please indicate your availability (hours per week) and preferred internship period in the cover letter.

The internship is not paid but we offer:
2 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated.
