Who are we?
You are part of the Global IT department in DRC Danish Refugee Counccil (DRC). You work closely with the IT colleagues in Denmark and the 30+ country offices where DRC is operating. The IT team is as diverse as the people we assist. You belong to the IT Service and Operations team and work closely with all colleagues in IT.
About the job
As Operational Azure Architect, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the Microsoft Azure environment at DRC. You will collaborate closely with the lead architect to design and implement technical solutions that reinforce governance, enhance security and compliance, and align with the organization’s business needs. You will also provide expert support and troubleshooting to resolve incidents registered by DRC employees to maintain the operational continuity of Azure core services.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Ensuring the availability and health status of Azure services by tracking updates, handling incidents and upgrades, and investigating dependencies with other solutions in the IT infrastructure.
- Managing Azure resources including Intune, virtual desktops, device management, and cloud infrastructure integration.
- Performing ongoing maintenance and support tasks in Azure tools, including permission management, metadata, and integration with external apps.
- Providing second-line support for escalated incidents related to Azure services, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with end users and projects.
- Developing and deploying technical solutions in close collaboration with the team and the lead architect.
- Collaborating and providing advice and training to key stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have admin experience across the Azure suite. You know how to provide support related to Azure cores services and how to develop and deploy technical solutions that adapt to the needs of DRC’s challenging environments. You enjoy working in an international setup dealing with challenges faced in different country operations.

Moreover, we also expect the following:
- An academic degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience as an Azure admin, including resource management and security configuration.
- Experience with lifecycle management and compliance frameworks.
- Deep understanding of designing and deploying Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Proven experience in scripting for advanced management of Azure tools.
- Experience providing support for troubleshooting and incident management for Azure services.
- Ability to create detailed documentation and technical designs.
- Fluent in English
Desirable:
- Basic understanding of SQL and database management.
- Experience with Power Platform and Power Apps.
- Experience with data governance and classification tools.
- Understanding of AI productivity tools setup and governance.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Integration - Migrating workloads to Azure and integrating third-party apps.
