The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a Leading protection agency pursuing our mandate to protect and promote durable solutions to displacement-affected populations based on humanitarian principles. Our response in the occupied Palestinian territory is centered on empowering conflict affected communities to meet their basic needs and promoting safety and dignity by addressing protection risks. Operating from two offices in Deir al Balah and Gaza City, and with a coordination office in Ramallah and a representative office in East Jerusalem, the DRC maintains an active presence with over 30 national and international staff and four civil society partners. DRC now aims to grow our operation as part of the Middle East Hub, which also comprises Türkiye, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan.
About the job
The post holder is responsible for all procurement of goods and services, warehousing, transportation of good and people, vehicle fleet management and general logistics support to the programme. In addition, the post holder will be taking a lead in Localizing and adapting DRC policies within support area to local circumstances as well as Contribute to the development of country strategies within the country program.
About you
Responsibilities:
Coordination
- Contributes to the daily operation with comprehensive knowledge in logistics and procurement
- Lead the coordination with the programme staff to ensure logistics & procurement involvement in the whole programme cycle
- Ensure that all logistics & procurement specific DRC/donors’ rules and policies are understood and respected
- Technical support to country supply chain teams
Procurement
- Ensure that procurement policies and procedures are rigorously followed for all procurement of goods and services
- Establish and follow up annual procurement plans in collaboration with relevant budget holders
- Support in Procurement of goods and services in line with DRC and Donor Guidelines
- Track all orders, purchases and deliveries and follow-up on agreed actions with relevant team members
- Oversight of all contract agreements related to procurement of goods and services to ensure DRC's interests are protected
- Optimize all logistics operations to increase cost effectiveness including setting up longer term supply contracts
- Ensure DRC supplier due diligence is used effectively
Logistics
- Ensure adoption of effective fleet management of DRC Fleet in line with DRC guidelines
- Explore alternative fleet modality and transport arrangement to ensure timely delivery of program supplies and equipment
- Ensure implementation of effective oversight on Assets Management processes in line with DRC and Donor’s rule and policies
- Provide technical support and guidance on establishing manage the DRC warehouse and stores (in line with DRC guidelines)
- Ensure appropriate and adequate health and safety, contract management and repairs/maintenance at DRC premises
Coordination
- Represent DRC in various Logistics coordination group and like-minded organisation relevant to delivery of project supplies and service
- Taking a lead in collaboration with relevant supply chain working groups / cluster to make use of exiting
- Provides expert advice and support to set strategy and assure operational quality and compliance
- Technical line responsibilities within a given discipline, for both strategy and operations
Partnership
- Take a Lead and contribute to designing and enforcing exiting Partnership management tools specific to Supply Chain Management process
- Contribute to partnership assessment and mapping in collaboration with other departments and partnership team
- Provide technical support and capacity development training for local partners
Carry out any additional duties as requested by the line manager to ensure effective delivery of the program and organizational objectives.
Experience and technical competencies:
Required
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar position
- Working experience from an international humanitarian organization
- A good understanding of the procurement rules and regulations of major international donors
- Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Full professional proficiency in English
Desirable
- Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply;
- Proficiency in Arabic is a distinct advantage;
- Working in multiple regulatory and compliance environment;
- Previous experience in Partnership Management and Capacity building;
Education:
Master's degree in e.g. Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management
Languages:
- Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in Arabic is a distinct advantage.

National Contract based in Amman with length till end of Dec 2026 with possibility of extension
