The Danish Refugee Council’s Diaspora Programme and the Nordic–Africa Diaspora Collective Initiative led by Golda Fania and Aisha Tambajang are bringing together experts and professionals from the African diaspora in the Nordic countries to explore how they can strengthen collaboration between stakeholders in the region and their home countries.

This initiative is initiated to respond a rapid growing in the development sector as well as global dynamics in the humanitarian field. Besides, the roundtable is also designed aligning with Denmark’s Africa Strategy and broader global commitments to equity, partnership, and locally led development.

It is worth noting that African diaspora communities contribute over $95 billion annually in remittances. These numbers exceed most forms of bilateral aid, whereas their leadership, lived expertise, and transnational networks remain significantly underutilized in formal humanitarian and development frameworks.
